Canberra PCYC is a not-for-profit organisation that provides programs and services for young people and their families across the ACT. They run various recreational based and cognitive based early intervention, groups and crime diversion programs, as well as providing case management support to vulnerable young people and families.
Canberra PCYC works closely with Melrose High to deliver a riding program for students during school hours. The Youth Worker at Melrose High is responsible for the intake and assessment of students to participate in the program.
‘Our partnership is largely possible due to the strong relationship we have with the Melrose High Youth Worker and their determination to get the best support for their students.’
Through this partnership, PCYC gets the use of school facilities to deliver their program, the school gets access to supported activities for their students and the young people have direct and exclusive access to PCYC support.
